WE HAVE A RECTOR

The Revd. Steve Short and his family moved to Melbourne Rectory earlier this year and he is now in charge of the four parishes.  We are delighted to have a young family living in the Rectory again.  Steve came to us from a ministry in the north of Derby Diocese where he had two parishes; he is beginning to get to grips with the complexity that four parishes bring.  You can read more about Steve on the Melbourne Parish website - http://www.melbourneparishchurch.org.uk/

THE CHURCH ROOF

Thanks to grants from the Listed Places of Worship Roof Fund, insurance money and funds raised by peoples’ efforts – for which the church is profoundly grateful, St. James Church has been reroofed.  Damage to internal roof supports has also been attended to and the PCC is planning to complete the work by having the roof beams cleaned and re-stained.

THE WEST WALL OF THE VESTRY

Old buildings need constant attention and the vestry wall is in need of repointing and the window supports renewing.
