Church and Coronavirus

This is changing everyone’s lives and St. James is having to adapt to this new reality.

The Archbishops of Canterbury and York have issued guidance on what the individual parish churches should be doing to safeguard people during this time of change and challenge.

For the first time in many years there will be no public worship in any of the parish churches of the Diocese of Derby. Nor will there be any meetings or other activities. This is for the foreseeable future and we will be advised when it will be safe for these activities to restart.

For funeral, baptism and wedding arrangements please contact the Rector, the Revd. Stephen Short. See ‘Who to contact at the church’.

It is inevitable that things will change as the pandemic takes its course and the Bishop of Derby will be issuing fresh guidance to parishes as necessary.
