Smisby Parochial Charity - Latest News!
The Parochial Charity is currently looking to appoint a fourth Trustee and we welcome applications from everyone in our community. We would be interested to hear from Smisby residents (both long-standing and new) as well as non-residents who have a strong personal connection with the village. This might be as a past resident, through a family connection or indeed anyone who has a particular skillset that they feel might be beneficial to the Charity.
The core objectives of Trustees include the investment of capital funds to provide the Charity with a disposable income. We are unable to spend our capital and so it is only the profits from our capital investments that allow us to provide funding for community projects. Our work also includes the management of our land portfolio and investigating new capital investment and development opportunities.
Trustee meetings are usually held 4-5 times a year on a Monday evening. Trustees are also required to attend half-yearly daytime meetings with our financial investment firm. Charity work is evenly split between all Trustees and additional work and email responses will be required between meetings. This is a voluntary position.
Application forms are available to download below and hard copies of the form are also available from Sheila Heap for residents who do not have access to the internet.
Completed forms should be submitted to Mrs Sheila Heap, Clerk to Trustees at Cedar Lawns, Forties Lane, Smisby. Tel: 01530 414179. Closing Date 18th December 2020.
